About District216

Healing for the 21st century, built on something ancient: community.

District216 is a membership driven social club in Santa Barbara for exceptional humans: teachers, artists, innovators, entrepreneurs, and psychonauts who want more than bars and small talk.

Our Mission

Cultivate lively communities of psychedelics pioneers that exchange ideas, explore health innovations, author new policies, and grow the ecosystem into a mindful industry.

Our Vision

Advance the full legalization and normalization of healthy psychedelics use in our daily lives, worldwide.

Why District216

Because the conversation finally caught up.

The prohibition on cannabis and psychedelics stunted society for decades. As laws catch up, clinical trials are bringing psychedelics back to mainstream mental health, proving to be effective alternatives to traditional pharmaceutical treatments.

People are taking their health into their own hands, particularly through education and community. We are a forward thinking space for that dialogue: information sharing, policy making, and futurism.

And with a quarter of professional jobs now remote, a deep sense of place matters more than ever. Meaningful relationships are the foundation of co-creation and rich community.

Authentic Leadership

Two decades of bringing people together.

Chief Dreamer Jacob Tell has owned and operated Oniracom, a Santa Barbara brand and marketing agency, since 2001, and launched the production studio LoDo Studios out of the pandemic.

Across those decades he has produced music festivals, networking events, entrepreneurship discussions, industry mixers, and educational lectures, and coalesced a diverse group of thinkers and doers into what is now District216.

"I was a D.A.R.E. kid. I had the shirt and the pencil and the lunchbox."Jacob Tell, in the Montecito Journal, April 2024. That was then.

The D216 Manifesto

Guideposts for the community.

Fifteen principles for bridging the gap between what has been and what will be.

Presence

Be here now and fully experience life. Turn off your mind, relax, and float downstream.

Community

Show up fully and join in wholeheartedly. The sum of us is greater than each of us alone, and we all belong here.

Awareness

Move with curiosity to explore within and without for greater wisdom.

Authenticity

Allow identity constructs to melt away so we can each reveal our true self.

Honor

Know who and what have come before, and carry their wisdom into the future.

Art & Science

Unravel the most effective answers at the intersection of intuition and data.

Disruption

Challenge the status quo to inspire our greater good.

Natural Selection

Evolve through constant refinement, looking to nature for answers.

Expansion

Escape the feedback loop of our own bubble with diverse perspectives that usher new ideas, networks, and people into our lives.

Patience

Pause. It is the silence between the notes that makes music.

Play

Channel your inner child's lighthearted wonder, curiosity, and thirst for fun.

Oneness

Look to the stars to honor our cosmic blueprint. Gravity's got ahold of us all, and we are all starstuff.

Love

Open your heart to the people, experiences, ideas, and vulnerabilities that show up.

Courage

Transmute fear to courageous acts of consciousness expansion.

Let It Be

Leave judgment at the door. What will be revealed, is. It's all understood.

Manifesto dedicated to Darryl Tell. Written by Jacob Tell.
